Vantage child theme not showing woocommerce products

Hi guys,

I’m using Vantage Premium and created a child theme using the Child Themify plugin. I also have WooCommerce and WooCommerce Simple Auctions (and a bunch of other plugins). Unfortunately, there is a problem because WooCommerce no longer shows Products. it only shows the Auction items.

I’ve trashed the entire site and reinstalled everything from scratch (twice) but on each occasion the problem reappears.

So I created a temporary site to investigate and resolve the problem. I installed the bare minimum plugins; WooCommerce, WooCommerce Simple Auctions and Child Themify.

Firstly, without creating the Child Theme, Vantage works as expected – it shows WooCommerce Products on the Shop base/page and Auction Items on the Auction base/page. BUT as soon child theme is created only Auction items are shown…..WooCommerce Products are no longer shown (only a message “No products were found matching your selection.”).

I tried using the vantage-child zip file that Greg provided on another thread on the Siteorigin forum (it contains a functions.php and style.css) but no luck.

No other CSS or PHP file has been touched of this temp site, and Catalog visibility is set to catalog/search for each product and auction item.

Can you please help me resolve please? The temp site where the problem can be seen is

I will attempt to create another site without the Child theme so you can see the difference…..any thoughts in the meantime would be greatly appreciate.

My thanks in advance.

    Hi Wpinster

Sorry to hear about the hassle.

I’m not sure why this would happen. Is there a particular reason you need a child theme?

If you need to modify your theme’s CSS you could use Appearance > Custom CSS. A child theme is only necessary if you need to modify other theme files at a code level.
