Vantage and Woocommerce up-sell products formatting

By svirkr90, 8 years ago. Last reply by svirkr90, 8 years ago.

Hello,
I am trying to use Vantage theme with Woocommerce plugin, works great, but there is a strange formatting issue. I created 2 products and marked one of them as an up-sell. A new section “you may also like…” appeared on this product’s page. But instead of being completely below the main product this text is placed right between the picture of this product and its description. Disabling all plugins except for Woocommerce didn’t help. In other themes this text is placed below in a separate section as it should be. Is there a way to solve this?
Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Svirkr90

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi Andrew
Unfortunately I can’t do that since I am currently running it locally. I attached images where it is shown for Vantage and another theme. If it helps I can try to describe how to reproduce it in detail.
    Vantage:
    vantage up-sells
    Storefront:
    storefront-up-sells

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve recreated the upsell situation locally and can’t recreate the formatting issue you’ve shown. Any idea on when your site will be on live server?

I decided to recreate this situation step by step. I installed WordPress, Woocommerce and Vantage so that there were nothing else in the system. Then I created 2 products where one of them was marked as an upsell. “You may also like” was placed correctly right under a review block. But when I disabled comments for this product (pressed “Quick Edit” on the product and unchecked “Allow comments”) the formatting went wrong.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for those steps. I’m, unfortunately, still unable to recreate. With styling issues like this, we use the browser inspector to view your source code, this allows us to quickly identify the problem and correct or advise steps for correction. With edge cases like this, it can be tough going to try and reproduce the error in our own local setup. One option would be to turn off upsells while developing locally, move the site live, let us know and then turn them on briefly, allowing us to take a look and correct.

I looked more closely at CSS in Storefront and Vantage. In the end I created child theme for Vantage and added a line to the CSS file: “.woocommerce .upsells.products h2, .woocommerce .related.products h2 {clear: both;}”. This seems to resolve the formatting issue. I am not a web developer so I hope there are no errors there.

That’s perfect, no errors there. Nicely done :)
