Validation warning (Charmod C073)

Hello.
I’m gladly in WP using so-widgets-bundle and recently I validated the site (https://validator.w3.org/nu/?acceptlanguage=&doc=http%3A%2F%2Fteatr-strekoza.com%2F) and it gave me warning
Warning: Document uses the Unicode Private Use Area(s), which should not be used in publicly exchanged documents. (Charmod C073)
At line 586, column 66
w-icon=”” >
It looks like FB it’s connected to Social Media Button’s code.
I tried to fix it myself but my wp-admin/plugin-editor.php doesn’t give me icons.php as in github.com/wp-plugins/so-widgets-bundle/blob/master/icons/icons.php so I could chance “” with “fa-facebook”. Could you please help me with it?
Thank you.
Oleg

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Oleg

    Thanks for reaching out.

To confirm my comment on Facebook, it’s best to not edit plugin files directly as those changes aren’t update safe.

The Widgets Bundle is currently set up in a manner that avoids us having to write the CSS for each icon. It allows us (and other developers) to easily add additional icons without having to write redundant CSS.

This is just a warning, not an error so it isn’t something to be concerned about. Here is the Treehouse forum on the same issue: https://teamtreehouse.com/community/-document-uses-the-unicode-private-use-areas. They reference IcoMoon’s explanation for this which is:

Using Latin letters is not recommended for icons fonts. Using the Private Use Area of Unicode is the best option for icon fonts. By using PUA characters, your icon font will be compatible with screen readers. But if you use Latin characters, the screen reader might read the single meaning less letters, which would be confusing.
