Using Site Pack – lost my website!

By Sheri Houston, 7 years ago. Last reply by Sheri Houston, 7 years ago.

Any issues with anyone using a site pack? I downloaded, installed correctly, built a new site, shared it with the client, they approved it. Went to upload to live and saw updates required to pluggins/widgets. Ran the updates successfully yet my fully completed site was erased. All the site pack pluggins & widgets, my content, my photos… ALL MY WORK :(

Troubleshooting with the hosting company they are saying that there was a “conflict in the code”???
Any one else have this issue on an update to a site pack.

Kinda nervous to do a redo with the MINO site pack to only have this happen again???
Anyone got anything???

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sheri,

    Preface: There are no known issues with Site Packs that are like the one you’ve mentioned.

    I’m sorry to hear this. :(
    Could you please ask your hosting company to elaborate on the conflict they saw? This will, hopefully, allow us to track down what went wrong.

    To clarify, what migration method did you use?
    Did you install anything besides the base plugins (this won’t cause you issues, just trying to work out if you installed a problematic plugin)?

    Thanks for this reply I am just seeing. Appreciate it!
    Ended up doing a complete rebuild… all has been fine since and running and working as expected.

    BUT… my newest question. :) Can I add here?

    Installed & building
    Theme Name: SiteOrigin North
    Author: SiteOrigin

    You can see on any of the pages that have a top image I loose site of the dropdown menu on the About nav.

    Upon inspecting it is coming from

    So the z-index.
    However I can not find where to correct this. Can you send me to the file where I can edit so the menu is on top.
    Can you help?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sheri,

    You can fix this with some custom CSS. If you navigate to AppearanceCustom CSS, you’ll get our custom CSS editor. Just add the following code.

    #masthead.site-header {
        z-index: 1000;
    }

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.
