Hi,
I am building a website using SiteOrigin Page Builder, and during preparation I was thinking about whether to use a CSS framework such as Bootstrap. However, this Page Builder must contain the necessary CSS for things like grid or buttons already. For example, I am trying to apply a row/column grid system to some elements that I cannot build with Page Builder, but I would like to use it’s CSS. Is it useable outside the scope of the Page Builder itself?
I hope my question is understandable.
Regards,
Michael
Hi Michael
Thanks for reaching out.
In theory, yes, but it isn’t documented and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it done. Page Builder outputs the grid it needs as required. Sorry, wish I had more for you on this question.
Thanks for your reply.
I saw that the CSS was created on-the-fly. So if I want to display a post loop where the posts are displayed in a 3-column format, I would have to write the responsive CSS for those columns by myself? Or is there any other way (besides using a CSS framework)?
Thanks.
Just as widgets add their own styles, unfortunately, you’d need to add your own grid using CSS. It’s totally logical what you’re asking for and I’ll be sure to mention this to Greg. Perhaps, in the future there will be a way you can hook into the Page Builder grid system. For now, your loop would need to bring its own column styles.
Okay, that would be nice. I will use Bootstrap or another framework until then.
Thanks for your understanding. All the best with your project.
I just noticed that page builder also ships with Font Awesome. But the standard way of using their icons (with the -Tag) is not working, which means one has to import the font twice to use it in places that cannot be build with the page builder.
Do you have a link I could take a look at?
