Uppdating menues

Hi
First : I just love the Vantage !! :)
Thanks for all fast replies!! :)

Now:: I have eliminated the header I just keep the menu banner.
I have added a sidebar menu to the pages as well.
Love this result.:)

BUT:

Question:: Is there an uppdating in the pipeline where we can elimiate the headermenu and
only use a horisontal menu in for examle top left corner
This menu in the top left corner consists of three horizonthal lines on top of each other… very common menue.. so I hope you understand my explication.

That !! is the only critisism I have to this theme and the reason why is beacuse you can get a very sleek and minimalistic approach with this menu…. and it is very modern. :)

Hope for a postive answer :)

Have a nice day!
Linda

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Linda,

Thank you for the kind words! :)

That menu is possible in Vantage right now but it’s a feature of the premium theme. Basically, more often than not it’s used as a responsive menu. As such, you really only have two options for getting this menu. Upgrading to premium (which is well worth it but obviously I’m a bit biassed) or installing a third party plugin like Responsive Menu.

Regarding hiding the masthead; you should be able to accomplish what you’re after by setting the masthead menu to empty. You can do this by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceTheme Settings.

Let me know if this helps.

    Hi Alex,

the URL is passwordprotected but I shall see about that.
I have checked all settings and tried to eliminate the header and menue topbanner by setting all pixels to zero but there is still a tinytiny menuebanner in the top incl a tinytiny menue text.
By also setting fonts, backgrounds, hoovers, etc to white you canĀ“t see the menue since the menuebanner is white and but the menue is there althoug invisible.
I am missing a setting where you can eliminate the top menue and header completely like: Header: none, Menuebar top: none…. well you understand what I mean… I hope..
I do not mind others to read my questions because others might have the same questions and we help each other :)

    Kindest
    Linda :)

    Hi Alex,

I have gone through the settings and Responsive menu is enabled for mobile devices.
How do I enable it for all devices and stop the original menu from showing at all without installing a plugin and mess with codings?
Is it possible or do I have to stay with default?
I have installed Responsive menu Plugin by Responsiv Menu, but I think it will be tricky for me to mess with codings,
so what is your solution to the dilemma?
I really want only a responsive menue on all devices……

Thanking you in advance for your assistance,

    Kindest regards,
    Linda

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Linda,

Technically, if you increase the mobile collapse point to the point where it’s higher than any normal resolution it’ll always show the burger menu rather than a traditional menu. To do this please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceTheme Settings then find and adjust the Mobile Menu Collapse to something really high like 5000px.

Is there any chance of getting a link to your website so I can help you with your previous comment? As a reminder, if you need to keep the URL private you can mark your reply as private. Email replies are not private.

    Hi Alex,

Yes it worked so the menue is responsive but instead of beeing an ordinary dropdown menue, the drop down menue is black and covers the whole screen.
I have changed the location of the menu from right to left and center and it makes no diff it still cover the screen and is black with white text.
Is there an option to change this to an ordinary dropdown menu? If not, I find another solution and you have something to work on for next upgrade… :)
Love the theme so do not get me wrong!! :)

I do not mind others to read my email. I enjoy the process and love to share, maybe others can benefit from it.

Looking forward to your solution and many thanks for such a fast answer. :)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Linda,

    Sorry for the delay!

Ah, okay so that shouldn’t be happening. I, sadly, cannot tell you why it’s happening unless I view your website. I suspect it’s happening due to the custom styling but cannot confirm. Again, is there any possible way for me to view your website?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Linda,

Ah. I understand now. Okay so the hamburger menu you’re using isn’t really intended to be used in this manner. I’m in the process of looking for an alternative plugin that you can use but honestly, I’m coming up with blanks. :(

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Linda,

That plugin won’t do what you’re after. :( It basically does the same thing as the base responsive menu, just slightly different.

I’m going to log it as a suggestion but it’s very unlikely it’ll it in the next version as that will likely be released sometime this week (depending WordPress.org processing time).
