I was able to edit and update pages with no problems yesterday, but today I keep getting “Update failed”. How did this happen and what can I do to fix this?
Hi Wahinasa,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues updating SiteOrigin Page Builder. Are you having issues updating any other plugins?
If not, can you please provide me with the full update messages when you attempt to update SiteOrigin Page Builder?
I don’t have issues with any other plug ins. Attached is the error I receive when trying to update my page.
updating failed
Hi Wahinasa,
Thank you for the screenshot. That’s strange. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
I disabled all non-SiteOrigin plugins and it worked. Now I will re-enable them one by one and keep trying to update.
Looks like the problem is with Redirection By John Godley
Still testing the rest of the plug ins
After testing all plug ins, the only one that made the page update fail was Redirection By John Godley. Is there any other information I can provide to help you fix this?
Hi Wahinasa,
That’s odd. I just ran some tests and I can’t seem to replicate this issue. Does this issue occur when all non-SiteOrigin plugins are disabled, except the Redirection plugin.
