Updated WordPress now Can’t see content in Visual tab.

I updated to WordPress 5.2.2 and now I can’t see any content in the visual tab or edit in visual mode. I can still see content and edit in the text tab, but that kind of destroys the whole purpose of having a visual editor. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on how to resolve it? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Andy

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Andy

Sorry to hear about the hassle. Without further testing, it’s hard to say what might be the problem. Please, start by checking for a working baseline. Steps below:

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Thank you Andrew for your response. So since I posted, here is what I discovered. I see no content in the visual tab box if I access site origin from the “Live Editor” link at the top of the page when viewing my site’s webpages; however, if I access it from the pages link in the WP left side menu, I can see the content in the visual tab editor as well the text tab editor with no problem just as before. Strange huh? Have you heard of this before? Any idea what might be causing it?

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the feedback. Are you using Page Builder by SiteOrgin for the pages in question? The Live Editor is a Page Builder tool for editing your pages using Page Builder. If you aren’t using Page Builder then editing your pages via the WP left menu > Pages would be the way to go.

    Hi, I Work Here

I’m not quite sure how this has arisen though. The Live Editor link should only appear in the toolbar if the page in question has been moved from the Visual/Text tabs into Page Builder. If you aren’t using Page Builder for the given page the Live Editor link shouldn’t appear.

I think I am using Page Builder by SiteOrigin. That’s what it says, but regardless, as long as I edit visually through the WordPress menu, all is right with the world. Thanks for your feedback.

meant to type …as long as I can edit visually through the Work Press menu…

    Hi, I Work Here

Could you perhaps take a screenshot of the issue and upload it to imgur.com or any sharing site of your choice and send us the link?

    Hello Andrew,
Everything is now fully functional. I can visually edit by clicking on the Live Editor link at the top of the web page or going through the WP menu. My site has been under attack for the last week or so and my protection company has been removing malware every day it seems. I suspect maybe that was the issue.
    Regards,
    Andy
