unwind header flickering issue safari

By thabasti, 7 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 7 years ago.

Hello,

I am now using the unwind theme! Great alternative to north. I just want to point out, that the header is flickering in safari while scrolling. It’s exactly the same behavior that the north theme was facing months ago. Maybe that will help you to identify the issue. I don’t really remember, but I think it had something to do with javascript handling. Thank you for the great themes. I hope this is a bug priority 1 :D

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Thabasti,

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hey Alex,

    I don’t have a public URL. But in fact this problem is happening at your demo site as well. I can upload a video with the flickering header if you want me to. Again: this is occurring with Safari. I hope you can fix this in the near future.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Thabasti,

    Thanks. I don’t have a mac so I can’t personally replicate this sort of issue so thanks for confirming it’s happening on the demo site – I’ll let the development team know.

    Hi Alex,

    I just want to push this topic up again, because the problem ist not fixed yet. the flickering header in unwind theme is exactly the same that was in north theme a while ago. This link here: https://github.com/siteorigin/siteorigin-north/issues/142 was the issue that you have solved in north so I hope you can solve this in unwind too.

    And another bug: with unwind version 1.0.6

    you introduced the same bug, that we had with north 1.3.2 where the navigation bar disappears behind the hero image. Can you have look into this?

    Hi Thabasti

    I’ll ping the developers about this. Thanks for the heads up on the Unwind z-index issue, it looks like the build process wasn’t updated to reflect this issue.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Thabasti,

    Oh, and you can fix the menu issue with some custom CSS. If you navigate to AppearanceCustom CSS, you’ll get our custom CSS editor. Add the following CSS:

    #page #masthead .top-bar {
      z-index: 9999;
    }

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.

    Hi Alex,

    sorry to bother you again. But Im not sure if Misplon got it right. The issue with the flickering header still persists. I have found your post on GitHub where you say that this issue is related to the north flickering.

    See here:

    Misplon has closed this topic now. Maybe you can check that for me, as it is not fixed right now. thank you and sorry for pushing this over and over again.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Thabasti,

    Would it be possible for you to reply to the GitHub issue? I ask as I can’t actually test for this issue. Andrew is the lead on North and can definitely look into and resolve this issue if you feel it’s not resolved.

    I would ask you to hold off until you’ve tried the latest update however as the next version of Unwind is slated to release sometime today.
