Unwind – Editing home page without going static

8 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 8 years ago

Hi Guys,

First off I’m really enjoying the theme and widgets, so much cleaner than the others I’ve used.

Not sure if this is possible, but can the default home page receive an HTML tag (google webmaster) without changing it to a static page and building it that way?
And in terms of SEO, how would the home page be connected to the likes of Yoast SEO who only really seem to be useful on static pages?

Thanks
Adam

    Hi Adam,

You’ll need to use a plugin that specifically targets the home page (regardless of if it’s static or not). I’m personally not familiar with that target just the home page. I typically use Insert Headers and Footers.

Regarding your question, we’re likely not the best people to ask about this as we haven’t run many tests with that setup so we can’t really talk from experience. I will, however, state what I know for sure – you’ll get the typical Yoast meta tags but unfortunately, you’ll get basically no control over it. It would honestly be in your best interest to set a static page as it’ll just make everything easier.

Regardless of the above, I would recommend giving this article a read.
