Unwanted change after the Vintage Theme Update

Hi support team,

I have recently updated the Vintage Theme.

The website style setting has changed especially in header and footer section of the website and the side menu.
I am not a programmer and I have been trying to recover the orginal appearance of the website but I am struggling.

Also, The website has lost its home page. Can someone guide me to set
‘http://chinalinkstravel.co.uk/’ back to ‘http://chinalinkstravel.co.uk/homepage’

The original style of the site should be similar to: http://japanlinkstravel.co.uk/

Please help!! It’s urgent!

Thank you so much!!

Winnie xx

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Winnie,

This is happening as you’ve directly edited the theme files. WordPress will replace all theme files on update regardless of whether there were any changes to them or not. This means that the changes you’ve made have been erased. To prevent this, please use a child theme.

To recover your changes, I would recommend copying over the style.css on japanlinkstravel.co.uk to chinalinkstravel.co.uk but please ensure you use a child theme this time so the changes aren’t lost on update.

    Hi Alex,

    Thank you for your reply.

I will try to edit the custom style with a child theme.

    Thank you for your help.
