Unable to organize posts to pages

Hello!

I am very new to wordpress, web development, and this plugin, so please forgive my ignorance! I read your instructions about using the post loop, but the instructions vary from when I try it. In the instructions under the template option, it allows you to choose thumbnail grid or post slider. The options that I see under the template are content-none, page, search, and single.php. There is also no build posts query to specify the categories I would like to make visible on the page. Can you please help a new comer out and walk me through organizing posts using this plugin?

Thank you so much!
Eric

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Eric,

The templates that the post loop widget can use is dependent on the theme and as a result, vary from theme to theme. The tutorial you’re viewing looks to be based around the Vantage theme which includes a number of dedicated post loop templates. Other themes don’t always have these sort of templates and sadly, the post loop widget is dependent on the theme developers to add the templates.

To make use of the build posts query button is added by the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin. Once installed it’ll expand the Post Loop widget with a bunch of very use friendly options.
