Hi all.
My host says my issues are caused by Origin Site Builder so that’s why I am here as I have no idea what has happened.
Went on to WordPress to make a few edits. When I hit update, it kept throwing me out to a 404 error page. When I go back to the edits, nothing has changed. Just over and over. Same thing.
Could anyone help. I don’t want to remove page builder as all my pages have been designed with it and not sure what will happen.
Just a note, that I have previously been using Page Builder for quite a while with no issues at all.
Hi Tanya,
Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
If that doesn’t help, would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

Thanks Alex. I really appreciate your help. Please give me until tomorrow as I am unable to look at it today due to appointments all day. Sorry about that. First thing tomorrow. Cheers Tanya

Hi Alex
I have added a User in WordPress as instructed.
Have I tried uninstalling Page Builder and deleting it and also the widgets bundle and then reinstalling both of them. That made no difference.
When I try to make a change on any page and hit update, it sends me to a 404 error page? So I am basically unable to make any edits.
Frustrating. I will slowly try your instructions above with the plugins one at a time as well. cheers
Hi Tanya,
Sorry for the delay.
I’ve run a few tests and I suspect the server your website is on has mod_security (or a similar security module) and that’s incorrectly (due to broad/aggressive rulesets) flagging the Ajax requests. I would reach out to your hosting provider to double check if they have any logs of any of your requests blocked recently as those are likely this.
Thanks Alex. Greatly appreciated. Our web host has fixed the problem with your advice..
Thanks again.
