Unable to edit any content on my site after updating plugin

7 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 7 years ago

Hello SiteOrigin,

On Monday I updated 8 plugins on my site. Since then I am unable to edit any posts/pages. The screen is blank with the URL showing, for example “http://www.saturnbull.co.uk/wp-admin/post.php?post=13769&action=edit”. Nothing else then happens.
However, when I disable Page Builder by SiteOrigin plugin I am once again able to edit posts/pages. Albeit without the lovely PageBuilder formatting. BTW I am also using the Unwind theme.
Unfortunately, I do not know if if Page Builder by SiteOrigin was one of the 8 plugins I updated or not. Everything appeared to work ok until yesterday, when I tried to edit a post.

I hope you can help?

Simon

    Hi Simon

Sorry for the hassle. We’ll release an update in the next 12 hours to resolve an issue with the Widgets Bundle. To fix the issue right now you can reach out to your hosts and ask them to upgrade your hosting to the latest version of PHP 7 they offer. You’re running a version of PHP 5 at the moment which is where the issue has arisen. PHP 7.2+ is recommended for WordPress. If that isn’t possible, you can use https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-rollback/ to temporarily roll back or you could wait for the update. Apologies again for the hassle.

    Hi Andrew

No need to apologise and many thanks for the incredibly quick response. I will nag my hosting provider to upgrade to PHP7.

    Many Thanks

Super, thanks for your understanding. The PHP upgrade is worth it so if you can get that done, that’ll be great. With some hosts, the option is available to you in cPanel.
