Hi, I have free version of Vantage theme and want to change the image widget on my header and footer. I went to Customise-widget-footer/header and changed the image, but it won’t save the changes. Can anyone help?

Hi Emma
Thanks for getting in touch.
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Sorry for delay in replying. Website is on http://www.lbaweb.co.uk
I have managed to delete the old image on the header but can’t get a new image to save/publish.
While I was working on this something major also went wrong and I lost my home page completely. I’ve had to recreate it from scratch.
so, I’m a bit reluctant to mess about with it too much.
I have successfully changed the image (logo) on the footer, via Appearance/Widgets but not the header.
Hi Emma
Thanks for the update.
To avoid confusion, manage your home page via the Pages menu item. Is your old home page saved there, perhaps? If you save AppearanceHome Page, when the ON/OFF button is set to OFF, the home page will revert to the blog home page. You can choose your static home page from SettingsGeneral.
Where is the header image you want to use saved? Where is it located in the WordPress admin?
Hi Thanks for your help re themishing home page. I will check that out. The image I want to use is in the media library.
Hi Emma
Thanks for the update. You previously mentioned you couldn’t get the new image to publish. Can you perhaps walk me through the steps you’re taking to do that?
Hi Andrew. Sorry for delay in getting back to you – been on holiday. I’ve hit another problem with the theme now. After upgrading to your latest version 1.20.5 and upgrading to latest (free)Elementor, I get a white screen going to Appearance-Customise. So I can’t do anything with the theme. Can you suggest a way forward?
Hi Emma
You can try checking the console when the issue occurs to see if there are any helpful errors in red text only.

Alternatively, you can try establishing a working baseline by temporarily deactivating all plugins except for those plugins authored by SiteOrigin.
Thanks Andrew. Sorted! I deactivated all the plug-ins and re-activated them one by one as you suggested. Now I’m getting in to Appearance Customise !. Not sure which plug-in was the problem as I’ve re-activeded them all !. Anyway, I’ll now have another go at trying to put an image on the header which was my original problem and will let you know. Many thanks for the quick response – much appreciated.
Glad to hear you’re making progress. You can also manage widgets via AppearanceWidgets if the Customizer is experiencing an issue.
Hi Andrew, Well, I got the image logo to appear on the right side of the header ie (APPEARANCE -WIDGETS and added a Siteorigin image widget). However I’m only seeing half the image unless I increase the header padding from 45 to about 85 and it doesn’t look good. Is there any way to move the image up a bit? Website is – http://www.lbaweb.co.uk/
Thanks
Emma
Hi Emma
I think the image lazy loading might be the problem. Please, try editing the SO Image Widget, open AttributesCSS Declarations, and insert the following:
Will try that tomorrow Andrew. I’m quite new at this so can I ask – is ‘Attributes’ – ‘CSS declarations’ in the Customise section of Vantage theme?
Sure, no problem. Edit the SiteOrigin Image Widget; on the right you’ll see a panel, open Attributes then locate the CSS Declarations field.
Hi Andrew. Sorry, but there is no ‘Attributes” in the edit section of Image Widgets. Hope you can see the screen print I’ve attached.

Hi Emma
Thanks for the update.
Apologies; I misread the page, thinking the widget was in a Layout Builder instance. The support forum doesn’t support images at this time.
We’ll most likely need to address your challenge in a future Vantage update. You can try adding the following to Appearance > Custom CSS or CustomizeAdditional CSS for the moment:
Hi Andrew, Your fix worked perfectly ! Thank you so much for your time and help – very much appreciated. Emma.
Hi Emma
Thanks for hanging in there. I’m glad to hear the fix helped.
Cheers for now.
Andrew
