Uji Countdown

Hello
There is already a thread on this topic, but no conclusive way of having this shortcode work is presented (https://siteorigin.com/thread/shortcodes/).
I have tried using UJI Countdown shortcode in a Page Builder page inside a “SiteOrigin Editor” but nothing shows on the page.
The same shortcode pasted directly in a page displays the countdown fine.

    Hi Jean,

Can you please open the SiteOrigin Editor widget you used to add the Uji Countdown and untick Automatically add Paragraphs. How does that look?

    Hi Jean,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

The page that is not showing the counter is here: http://reflexphotonics.com/test_lifetime_3/
This page has a SO Editor with shortcode and the UJI widget in a standalone row.
A page with the shortcode pasted directly in the “Text” tab is here: http://reflexphotonics.com/test_lifetime_2/

    Hi Jean,

Would it be possible for you to send me an export for the widget used to add the Uji Countdown? To do this open up the page with the widget and click layout in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

Personally, I’m not having any issues with using the plugin. Please try altering the following shortcode to see if it works for you:

    [ujicountdown id=”test” expire=”2017/04/28 03:09″ hide=”true” url=”” subscr=”c” recurring=”” rectype=”second” repeats=””]

By alter, I mean change the id to the id of a countdown.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jean,

The provided layout worked without issue – at least the shortcode did. The widget didn’t, but I was never able to get that working. Just to confirm, did you change the ID in the shortcode provided in my last reply? That shortcode won’t work until you changed the ID to a valid countdown.

If you did, I suspect there’s a plugin interfering. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins (leave Uji Countdown active) and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hello
I changed the ID from “”test”” to one of a valid Counter.
BTW, apart from the curly quotes, I did not see any difference between the two shortcodes:
    Original:
    [ujicountdown id=”LA_Lifetime_2017B” expire=”2017/04/25 00:00″ hide=”true” url=”” subscr=”” recurring=”” rectype=”second” repeats=””]
    Your
    [ujicountdown id=”test” expire=”2017/04/28 03:09″ hide=”true” url=”” subscr=”c” recurring=”” rectype=”second” repeats=””]
    Your with valid counter:
    [ujicountdown id=”LA_Lifetime_2017B” expire=”2017/04/28 03:09″ hide=”true” url=”” subscr=”c” recurring=”” rectype=”second” repeats=””]

I will have to update my “mirror” web site in order to try your suggestion of disabling all non So plugins (and not disturb my live site). Give me some time to try this.

    Hello
As you suggested, I deactivated all plugins (but UJI) and as expected the UJI shorcode worked.
I reactivated all plugins related to SO and the UJI shortcode within an Editor widget worked.
I reactivated the plugins one by one and the problem seems to lie with Yoast SEO
Quite inconvenient as I use it a lot.
    Any suggestion ?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jean,

Okay, so it looks like this plugin takes steps to ensure the shortcode is run only once and this is why you’re having issues when Yoast is used. Please ensure you’re using the latest version of SiteOrigin Page Builder, 2.5.2, and then navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Content Tab. Tick Content Cache. Now please check again, does it work without issue now?

    Brilliant ! It now works.
    Thanks a lot
