Twitter widget not working

7 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 7 years ago

Hi,

Twitter widget doesn’t works in my webpage (it used to work). Only “Tweets by [my username]” and a link to my Twitter profile is showed. I deactivated all the no-SiteOrigin plugins but Twitter one (as suggested in this pass thread) and nothing changed.

Is the Twitter widget working well for you? What I can do?

Thanks.

Greetings,
ifrit

    Hi Ifrit,

Can you please clarify what plugin is adding this widget?
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hi, Alex,

    thanks for your answer.

I’m using the official Twitter plugin.

The site is under construction and closed. If you give me an email address I can create an user account for you.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ifrit,

Thanks. Does this issue occur if you navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the General tab. Untick Sidebar Emulator and save. Then please open the page used to add the Twitter widget and save it again. Does that help?

    Hi Ifrit,

Thanks for trying. I just ran a few tests with the Twiter widget and it worked without issue for me. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins (leave Twitter actived) and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi, Alex,

these is weird… I cleared the cache of my browser (Firefox), disabled all the other plugins and nothing changed. But, I just try the web in Opera and the widget is working! (in Chromium is also working…)

    Any ideas?

    Thank you for your time.

    Greetings,
    ifrit

P.S.: I’m using SiteOrigin theme Origami.

    Hi Ifrit,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at your usage of the Twitter widget?

    Hi Ifrit,

Unfortunately, due to your under construction gate, I’m unable to view your website. I suspect, based on your findings, you may have a browser extension breaking the Twitter widget. I would try viewing your website in Incognito mode (as that will disable all of your browser extensions) to see if that helps.

    Sorry, Alex,

I opened the website for an hour when we were exchanging messages before, but I can’t keep it open longer (I can made an user account for you if you give me an email).

It doesn’t work in incognito mode, neither disabling all the extensions :/

    Mysterious mystery…

    Thanks.

    Hi Ifrit,

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Done!

(WordPress language is set in Galician, I hope it’s not a big inconvenient to you.)

Thank you very much for your time and effort!!

    Hi Ifrit,

Thanks. I can confirm the Twitter widget is working without issue on our website for you. I would try reinstalling FireFox to see if that helps.
