Hi there,
I have a problem with the social sharing feature of Vantage Premium. It works fine on Firefox. But on Google Chrome the Twitter and Google Plus Buttons do not appear. The iframe where the content should be loaded stays empty. Any idea what might be the issue?
Unfortunately I cant show you on the life site, because it has a permanent htaccess redirect for all IP´s except mine at the moment due to development.
Check out the image documenting the error here: http://www.directupload.net/file/d/3895/gdzklpsu_jpg.htm
If you provide me a static IP I can give you access to the site.
Thanks for your help!
Toby

Hey Toby
Any chance you’re running an extension in Chrome that’s blocking those? For example, AdBlock Plus has a feature to block social links.
That was my first guess as well, so I deactivated adblock completely for the site. It didn´t work. I also shortly deactivated the .htaccess redirect. Didn´t work either.
Sorry that I forgot to mention this before
Thanks for the update. Can you do one last check for us before we dive in further. Please can you check your Chrome Extensions list and make sure there isn’t another extension there that could be causing this. Thanks.
(If you have Safari installed, please also check that. Both WebKit browsers so might shed some light).
Wow, I´m embarassed… Turns out it was the Avira Browser Safety Plugin that was causing this issue. Why this thinks that Google+ and Twitter is a security thread – but facebook is not – is beyond my horizon…
Anyway, thanks for this.
But I also have another unrelated issue regarding the use of WPML. Do I have to open a new thread for that? Can you guys also advise in improving pageload speed? Or is that too specific?
No problem, glad you found the solution there.
Usually we’d prefer a new thread but in this case, sure, let me know what you’re battling with. We’ll do our best to help.
Hey Andrew,
thank you for you willingness to help me. I was able to figure it out by myself. When viewing a category, the switch to another language didn´t work. But this was because I removed the “category” base with Yoast SEO plugin. I used another WPML-compatible plugin to remove the word category and not everything works fine.
I´ll let you know or open a new thread if I need further assistance.
Thanks for now!
Toby
Super, glad to hear you came right there. Thanks for sharing your problem/solution on the forum. Someone might find that helpful at some point.
Cheers
