Trouble setting up static home page with slider

OK, so I’m a non-code understanding mom trying to set up a blog. I know next to nothing so please keep advice simple…. I have successfully set up my new blog using INFLUENCE theme and even got the slider just how I want it. BUT, in the mobile version, the menu bar, sits right on top of the slider image. How can I correct that? I also added a countdown timer to the home page (I am cutting my hair for charity and want to rally some support). It doesn’t show up on the mobile version. Did I do something wrong?

    Hi Maritza

Head to Appearance > Theme Settings > Home Page and un-check the Menu Overlaps Slider setting, see if that helps.

I’m not seeing a countdown timer on the home page. I could check mobile rendering once I can see it on the home page. Thanks.

That was so helpful! Thank you… I re-set the timer and it works fine now in both desktop and mobile.
One other thing… in the text on my homepage, I want to include a picture. How do I do that? Is it a separate widget or can I insert a photo somehow into the text widget?
    THANK YOU

    For sure.

My recommended widgets for images is the Visual Editor widget. To get access to this widget first install: http://wordpress.org/plugins/black-studio-tinymce-widget/. The Visual Editor widget has an Add Media button that you can use to add images.
