Translating SiteOrigin North

9 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 9 years ago

Hello,

I am creating an ecomerce site using the SiteOrigin North, a great theme by the way!
So, my site is almost ready to go online but on the cart page, some texts still in English (I have woocommerce installed, Portuguese version).

I need to translate the textes on the cart page before going online. I found a Translation of SiteOrigin North: Brazilian Portuguese in wordpress.org (translating wordpress) with all the cart page translated. The wordpress.org page offer the possibility to download (EXPORT) ”the Portable object message catalog (.po/.pot)” and “the machine object message catalog(.po/.pot) “, I downloaded it to my computer.

My question is, how do I upload it to my wordpress website in order to have the theme translated, I am using a child theme of North and I have loco translate installed.

Thank’s a lot in advance

Pablo

    Hi Pablo,

Please note that it’s highly likely you already have this translation installed.

You’ll need to upload it to wp-content/languages/themes for this you’ll need to use FTP to do this.

By the sounds of your post, you’re actually trying to translate certain WooCommerce strings. I would recommend looking into that if the North Translation doesn’t help.
