Top menu distorted after North theme upgrade

I upgraded my North theme on 12/24/18 at 22:37. (I am also using a child theme.) After the upgrade, my top menu was about twice the height, however the logo image was distorted. It’s almost as if the height doubled, but the width was perhaps narrower than before. I was able to correct the problem by restoring my theme backup to v1.6.1. I assume I updated to v1.6.2 (based on my warning from WordFence).
I see v1.6.3 is now available. Do you know if this problem has been corrected in v1.6.3?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

    Are you using a Retina logo? I ask as there was an issue in the previous updates which resulted in the retina image size being used rather than the base logo size. If this isn’t the case, please try updating to 1.6.3 to see if that helps. If it doesn’t, do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    I’m using a transparent png with dimensions 1760 x 304. It is not a Retina logo. Do you know from the time (22:38:51 EST) if I had updated to 1.6.2 or 1.6.3?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

    That sounds like an awfully large non-retina logo – I’m surprised your logo isn’t displaying that large by default.

    Unfortunately, I’m not too sure. I would recommend giving the update a try and if you run into any issues let me know. Please note that I’ll need to inspect the logo to work out what’s going wrong so ideally I would recommend temporarily leaving the issue present.

    Thank you for your quick replies, btw! So great of you to help out.
    I have upgraded and deleted the cache. Yes, the problem still exists. Here is my url: medicaldatarx.com

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

    Thanks. According to your markup, the logo is outputting correctly so I’m not too sure how it previously looked for you. Can you please temporarily downgrade so I can compare the updated and previous version? Sorry about this!

    There. It should be back to normal.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

    Thanks. Can you please try adding the following CSS to WP AdminAppearanceCustom CSS:

    #masthead .site-branding img {
        height: auto;
    }

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.

    Done. I cleared the cache on the site. However, I’m not exactly sure how it’s appearing. When I try Chrome or Edge, it appears fine. If I try incognito in Chrome (even after deleting Chrome’s image cache), it still appears large. How’s it look to you?

    It looks right in incognito now. I just closed out Chrome and opened it back up.

    Thanks so much for your help. What would be your recommended logo size? Perhaps I can ward off future issues.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

    Great to hear it’s working without issue for you now. :)
    I would recommend resizing your logo to 693×120 as that’s what your logo is being resized too on the fly.
