Too many H1 tags – how can I change these

7 years ago · Last reply by Gail 7 years ago

Hi there,

After using SiteOrigin page builder, I’ve ended up with too many H1 tags (i.e. 7!)

3 x ST: Slider and 4 x ST: Featured Posts.

How can I change these please?

Thank you!
Cheers
Gail

    Hi Gail,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? Based on your message, it sounds like these h1s are being added by third party widgets. I would check their widget settings if it’s possible to change the header level. If it’s not, you may need to change widget.

    Hi Alex,

I’m using the widget, ST Slider, the title of which is H1 and I have 3 images, and subsequently 3x H1s on my Home page.

Then I’m using ST: Featured Posts, each of which transferring the H1 styles of the 4 posts it displays from my Posts page, and subsequently an additional 4 x H1s on my Home page.

    Help!! Thanks.

    Hi Gail,

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to access the linked website. Can you please double check the URL?

Regardless, it’s unlikely I’ll be able to assist you with changing the header levels.
These aren’t our widgets so it’s not something we can directly change/fix so your best bet would be to check the widget settings to ensure there isn’t a way to change the header level within the widget itself. If there’s not, consider temporarily changing to a different widget and reporting this issue to the developers of the widget (we’re not too sure who that is).

Oh rightio – yes I see they’re both part of the Suffice theme widget bundle. No worries – I’ll check with them.

    Thanks!
