Hi, there should be three vertical dots on the right, click that to open the menu and then try using the recovery option provided. If the block recovers, edit the layout, make any small change and then save.

    Andrew,
Thanks for the quick response. I actually found that option about an hour ago. Which brought SO back up. I made changes, then updated. When I go back in to edit again, the same thing happens. I’m sure this isn’t suppose to be happening, right?

Please, send a copy of the block and we’ll take a look. When the block is working click the three vertical dots then copy. You can upload the contents to Pastebin.com and send the link or perhaps add the contents to a text file and upload to Drive/Dropbox/WeTranfer.com and send the link. Thanks.

Trying to do PasteBin but after I paste code I see no way to get it to you

  5. Andrew Misplon Staff 5 years, 5 months ago

Thanks. Once the paste is saved you can copy the URL from the address bar in your browser.

I don't see a Save option. I'm on the free version

There is a grey button near the bottom of the page, Create new paste.

Thanks. Got it. Forgot to name it but its there.

Thanks. Please, send us the link to the paste on Pastebin.com.

Thanks. The page seems to work ok for me but I don’t have the CTF widget in the right column. Do you perhaps know which plugin or if your theme is providing that widget? Once I’ve installed the plugin or theme it’ll add the widget, I’ll then be able to use that widget in the right column of the SiteOrigin Layout Block in your layout.

  11. socalcomic 5 years, 5 months ago

The widget is the Custom Twitter Feed. When I go in to edit page this is what I'm seeing

  12. Andrew Misplon Staff 5 years, 5 months ago

Thanks. I’m not actively pulling a Twitter feed but the widget now works. At the moment, I’m unable to replicate the issue.

Please, could you try a quick test? Edit the SiteOrigin Layout Block, click LayoutsImport/ExportDownload Layout. Next, create a new page, insert a Layout Block, and repeat the process, LayoutsImport/Export except this time import the JSON file from your desktop. Save. Edit the page, does the issue persist on the test page?

I think we’ve isolated the issue with the Twitter widget. I’ve prepared an update for Page Builder, you can download the ZIP file here. To make use of this update, go to Plugins, deactivate and delete Page Builder by SiteOrigin. Next, go to PluginsAdd NewUpload Plugin and upload the ZIP file from your desktop. Activate.

Thanks for staying on this. I deleted old SO plugin and installed the new one but unfortunately it still looks the same.

I had this same issue with another site a couple months back as well but then I have other sites with SO and no problem

Thanks for trying the beta build, sorry it didn’t help.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    Private Snippet

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and Private Snippet for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

I can do that although Private Snippet isn't an email address

Thanks. Please, check the forum thread directly at Thread: “this block contain unexpected or invalid content” while logged in.

    Done

  20. Andrew Misplon Staff 5 years, 5 months ago

Thanks. Please, check the page in question now. I recovered the block, made a change to a widget, reversed that change, and saved. It seems ok now.

  21. socalcomic 5 years, 5 months ago

That seems to have fixed it. This happened to another site a couple months back as well. If this should happen again is there anything I can do on my end? Thanks again for all your help. Much appreciated.

Super, glad to hear that helped. This specific issue, block validation problems due to “open in new tab” link, will be resolved in the next update of Page Builder.

(For interest sake, if you wanted to use Page Builder in its classic layout for all pages, you could make use of the Classic Editor plugin. SiteOrigin Layout Blocks won’t auto-migrate into the Classic Editor Page Builder tab but the process can be done manually.)

    Thanks again for the help.

For sure. As questions arise in the future, please, let us know.

    Cheers for now :)
