Theme Xpand Blog not loading in editor

When I open the SiteOrigin editor I get an empty editor section. Using the Xpand Blog theme.
Clicking on the ´eye´-icon, I do see the (lefthand-menu) for text, decoration and layout, but the main section is empty for the 3 parts.
– Have de-activate all plug-ins and tried, no success.
– Have saved the permalinks, no success.
– Checked if there was a java error (ctrl-shift J), I get the message, :

Mixed content: The page at ‘https://www.avegter.nl/xyz/wp-admin/themes.php?page=so_custom_css’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure frame ‘http://www.avegter.nl/xyz/?so_css_preview=1’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

Any suggestion what to do to load the CSS-editor?

Thanks
Alco

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alco

Thanks for posting your question. At SettingsGeneral in WordPress is one URL www and the other not www? If so, that’s the issue. If you remove www or make both www then the issue should resolve.

    Andrew,

    Thanks for helping me out.
In WordPress Settings –>, General, the WordPress address (URL) was set to http:// as well as the Site address (URL).
However the WPS Hide Login, these were at https://.
I have changed both http:// to https:// and now I do not see the error message as mentioned previously.
But the CSS editor still leaves me an empty page. (I logged off and logged back in again)

When checking the site (Ctrl-Shift-J) under console I see the following:
DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for https://www.avegter.nl/xyz/wp-content/themes/xpand-blog/assets/css/bootstrap.min.css.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Alco

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alco

    Thanks for your feedback.

Perhaps try setting SettingsGeneralSite and WP URL to https:// with no www. It looks like they’re http:// at the moment but the site is running at https.

If the issue still persists, please, try temporarily deactivating all plugins except for SiteOrigin CSS. Does the issue persist?

Have deactivated all plug-ins, other than the SiteOrigin CSS and tried with http://www, https://www, http:// and https://, but I keep getting the info:
Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://www.avegter.nl/xyz/wp-admin/themes.php?page=so_custom_css’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure frame ‘http://www.avegter.nl/xyz/?so_css_preview=1’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

I am a bit lost, why it mentions, the content must be served over HTTPS, when the WordPress (URL) address setting is set to https
When I load http://www.avegter.nl/xyz/?so_css_preview=1, the URL address “switches” to https//?!

    Thanks
    Alco

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for the update.

You can stick with no www as long as the URL’s are aligned and the site isn’t trying to retrieve assets from what is considered a different domain. Both URLs should be https as the site is defaulting to https.

You can try installing https://wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-ssl/ to see if that resolves the mixed content issue.
