My website (footballandthefirstworldwar.com) has been running the Vantage theme since it was first made (about 4 months ago), however, the theme has just stopped working. It was working fine earlier today and there has been no custom html etc done today – in fact the only addition to the site this week has been a new page that was published around four hours ago.
I have spoken to my host and the only thing they can advise is to try and find a previous backup to revert to, to see if that will rectify the issue. Obviously I don’t want to do this if I don’t have to, as I will lose work.
I’m a little confused as to why the theme has suddenly stopped working, especially as none of the files have been edited today – although we changed the PHP build to 5.5 yesterday.
Please help!
I have just deactivated the W3 Cache Plugin and it seems to have rectified the issue. I’m not sure why this has just happened as the plugin has been installed on the website for a good few months. Is this a common issue with Vantage?
Cheers
Hi Iain
Hope things are good your side. Sorry to hear about this hassle.
No it’s not a common occurrence. If the matter is resolved for now then I’m happy to leave it if you are. You could try clearing W3’s cache after re-activating it. That could resolve the issue.
This is an alternative plugin if necessary: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/.
