Hello, I have the wp siteorigin north theme and have enabled the responsive button, however it is not responsive on smartphones. Will the theme be updated to rectify this please? Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi G,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hello Alex

    The URL is http://watkinwilliams.co.uk/
Could you also look at the product pages. I've used page builder to design them but they look all wrong on the iPad. I have enabled the tablet layout in settings. I think it has something to do with the way I've designed the page. Thanks

    Hi G,

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to see any responsive issues with your product pages. Can you please elaborate on the responsive issues you’re having?

    Hello Alex

The images on the homepage are not responsive, they're not shrinking down to fit the screen as the text is. Thx

    Hi G,

Okay, so that’s due to your SiteOrigin hero settings. You’ve set a px based padding which is a static number and will never change. This normally is somewhat okay but due to a large amount of padding applied and the length of the text, it’s quite noticeable.

I would recommend changing all instances of hero padding to use percentage based amounts. To clarify, percentage based amounts will change depending on user resolution so it’s a responsive unit of measurement.

To refernece, these issues aren’t related to the theme itself so I’m going to retag this thread.

    Hello Alex

Ok I can see that will work but not sure how to do calculations. Can you advise?

Main hero image – height: 0px, top and bottom padding: 300px, extra top padding: 0px, side padding: 20px, max container width: 1280px, headlng size: 50px, text size: 16px

All other hero images – height: 0px, top and bottom padding: 100px, extra top padding: 0px, side padding: 20px, max container width: 1280px, headlng size: 50px, text size: 16px

And I should change to % for mobile padding as well as padding? And padding for row as well?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi G,

For the first image, try: 23.5%
    For the other hero’s, try 5% – 7%

You may need to try a few different settings to find a padding amount you’re okay with.

Regarding row/widget padding., it’s up to you. It’s okay to use a slightly large amount of padding just as long as you add a mobile padding that’s not as large.

    Hello Alex

That's worked. Thanks. I'll be in touch regarding the other two things.
    Thanks again.
