Theme crash when PHP updated

5 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 5 years ago

Hello,
My web host (Bluehost) did a PHP update on my account and crashed 2 of my 3 websites. The website that is running the NORTH theme handled the update OK but the 2 sites that run on VANTAGE both crashed (error 500). When Bluehost reset my PHP to 5.6.40, the sites were accessible again. Are your themes restricting what PHP I can use ??

I’ll appreciate your help, Jim

    Hi Jim

    Thanks for reaching out.

If you’re using Vantage version 1.14.5 there shouldn’t be an issue. Ideally, debug needs to be enabled and the upgrade run again. With some hosts, the PHP version can be changed from the hosting control panel. With debug enabled, you’ll be able to see what error is being triggered.
