Texts and Media are not displaying after updating site.

Hello, I’m running the latest version of Vantage theme and WordPress 5.5.1 and I logged into my site today only to realize that everything I did on the site using SO Page Builder is gone. Text, media and widgets. I need help in restoring this as it is a client’s site and I’ll like to have it running as soon s possible. Thank you.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Adeshola

Try to establish a working baseline. Does the issue resolve if you temporarily switch to the Twenty Twenty theme and temporarily deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins at the same time?

Hi, thank you for replying. Whenever I change the theme, the images, texts and media format wrongly. Like really cramped and everything moves to the right. And they only show in the preview. As soon as I save the edit (while using another theme), everything goes again. But with the Vantage, nothing displays at all.

Hi, sure, no problem :) The goal with the baseline test is just to get Page Builder working, how the site renders on the front-end doesn’t matter for this test. With Twenty Twenty activated and all non-SiteOrigin plugins deactivated, does Page Builder work normally? If so, you’ve found a working baseline. Reactivate your theme, retest Page Builder. Reactivate your plugins one by one, retesting Page Builder after each activation. Assuming you can find a working baseline your next step is to see when the issue reoccurs.

Okay, I deactivated all non SO plugins and changed the theme and it worked. Already made some edits to the pages thinking that was the problem so I restored previous revisions and that helped. Restored it back to Vantage and still works. So, I’ll restore the plugins one by one too try and figure out the culprit. Thanks.

I’ll reach out if I encounter any more problems. Thanks again.

Super, that’s a great start. Please, let us know how the next phase of testing goes and we’ll assist further from there. Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

I’m glad to hear you’re making progress. When the plugin in question is activated, you could perhaps check the browser console for errors, here is how https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/#step-3-diagnosis. If the plugin is producing errors, you could take a screenshot and send the info to the plugin author.
