I have been using Page Builder for my site for a few years. I typically add a row with two columns. I add Text widgets in which I put some php code. This has been working and the site continues to work. However, when I go to edit a page the widget is empty. It does start in Visual mode which I have to change to Text. I do not save these empty pages so I don’t lose the code. If I look in the Posts table all the code is there.
It only seems be be happening with the Text widget. I have Custom Menu widgets and have tried the Site Origin Editor widget and the code is there.
I’m not sure when this started since the site has been stable and only recently wanted to add a new feature. I am using WordPress 4.8 running Vantage Premium theme and Page Builder Version 2.5.8. I typically do updates to WordPress and plugins as they become available.
Text widget contents not showing

Hi Dave,
This issue is likely related to the WordPress 4.8 text widget overhaul which has been quite problematic for users who’ve used the text widget for anything other than basic HTML. I would recommend installing Add Paragraphs Option to Text Widget which reverts the text widget back to how it was before 4.8 and see if that allows you to edit the text widget without issue.
