Text not visible in the backend

Hi,
I’ve got the same problem as Michelle. I’m working with Minamaze Pro by ThinkUpThemes and I can see the text content of my website in the browser window. However, I cannot see it in the backend (“0 words”). The Pagebuilder seems to have vanished. Please help. I need to make some urgent changes of my homepage.
Regards,
Susanne

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Susanne,

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If that doesn’t help, you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Alex,

the Page Builder-version for ThinkUp Themes wasn’t up-to-date. I deleted the plugin and installed the latest version, supplied by the ThinkUp-support. However, the problem wasn’t solved: I had many lines of error-warnings on my homepage now.

I needed to change the wp-config.php in order to solve the problem. I just wanted to let you know in case other users are facing the same problem.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hoppetosse,

Can you please provide me with a copy of the error messages your experiencing? I ask because altering the WP_DEBUG won’t resolve the issue your face, only hide it. It’s recommended that WP_DEBUG is disabled on a production site so once you’ve provided a copy of the error messages, please disable it again.

    Hi,

please find attached a copy of the first rows of the error messages.

To solve my problem, I inserted two snippets into the config.php-file: one which makes the messages invisible in the frontend (advice of a friend) and one which deactivates the WP_Debug (advice of ThinkUp Themes-support).

Now, my homepage seems to be OK. However, I’ haven’t worked with the Page Builder again yet.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hoppetosse,

Unfortunately, we’re unable to process attachments at this time. Can you please upload the error message to something like Pastebin.

  6. 6 years, 5 months ago Hoppetosse

Sorry, Alex, I only have a screenshot of the error lines. Unfortunately it is not allowed to upload it.

All the warnings (about 60 lines) start with
Illegal string offset ‚thinkup_(…)‘ and are located in wp-content/plugins/thinkup-panels/thinkup0-panels.php

I can't see the warnings now, and I don’t have the time to reverse all my backend-works in order to make them visible again.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hoppetosse,

Thanks. Thinkup panels is a really old fork (a version based on our code but not actively developed by us) of SietOrigin Page Builder. Please uninstall Thinkup Panels and install SiteOrigin Page Builder. If there any pending updates for your theme, you’ll need to update that also.

    Hi Alex,

Thinkup panels is part of the plugin which ThinkUpThemes provides as a new (!) version of the Site Origin Page Builder "for ThinkUp Themes“. After five years without any problems, I’m unhappy with the fact that ThinkUp tells me other things than you and that I have to spend hours installing and deinstalling plugins which are said to be new and fitting my theme.
Moreover: Who guarantees me that everything will work with the general version of the SiteOrigin Page Builder? Why should ThinkUp Themes offer a special version of the Page Builder then?

Could you please talk to the ThinkUp-support in order to solve this problems in a way which is comfortable for professional (paying) clients like me?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hoppetosse,

ThinkUp Panels is actually no longer supported as they’ve dropped that plugin in favor of using the main plugin. I’m unsure why you weren’t notified of this. Regardless, as long as you’re using the latest update of your theme, the transition will be seamless. If you run into any issues, I would get in contact with ThickUp Themes to ensure you don’t have any additional legacy plugins present.
