Hi!
First, thanks for all the work you guys do… Totally awesome that I get to use your work for free – thank you!
Now, not sure if this bug is related to the text bug other people are reporting, but basically I am trying to build some little text menus into my footer. I wanted to use the text editors, one widget per footer column, but none of them want to work at all (siteorigin editor or visual editor). They bug out in a big way – not letting me even write in the text box (but I can write in title), and when i try clicking on the text/visual tabs then the text box sometimes just dissapears. Other times as soon as I go in to try and edit it, the text/visual tabs are repeated above each other. Once I even saw a column of about 10 repeats. As a workaround I tried to add a layout builder widget into the footer bar but same problem. Attempting to add media into the visual editor does nothing. I “think” my text editors on the normal pages are working, although I might have seen a couple of similar bugs once or twice not sure, but anyway its mostly workable. Apart from eating all attempts at making line breaks but hey.
Other oddity – I am adding text widgets as the first rows on my pages, but for some reason the position is messed up, so that it places the start of them underneath my navigation menu. I have to add about 60px of padding to pull them down. I can work around it, but just letting you know.
Not sure if important, but I am also using storefront pro from pootlepress.
Cheers,
Rob
Hi Rob,
I suspect this issue is the same text widget issue as the other users. Are you still having these issues as of the latest Page Builder (2.5.10) and SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle (1.9.6) updates? If so, please try clearing your browser cache. Does that help?
Hey Alex,
Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I am fully up to date, and unfortunately clearing the cache had no effect. I am using firefox, as a test I just tried logging in with IE but it only shows the same behaviour!
Hi Rob,
Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
