Can you only have one post loop per site?
I have one on the home page which I have set to one called ‘current updates’ which makes this easily managed since I simply uncheck that category on the post when I no longer want it on the home page.
But I want to add a post loop to another page and have ANOTHER category appear there.
When I add the widget, the Taxonomies only shows me page TAGS and no post categories at all except for ‘uncategorized’. Yet there are many POST categories and have been in use for quite some time.
Why do they not show up, and why are page TAGS there instead. I have never run into this issue before using this widget. I do have content-single selected and ‘post’ selected in the dropdown.

There is no limitation to using Post Loop widgets across a site. I’m not quite sure why categories aren’t appearing. To confirm, have you tried typing in the category name you’re looking for in the Search field within the Taxonomies field?
