Hi,
I’d like to change the font colour for my web site tagline. I’ve tried adding the following CSS (which I found on another thread in this forum);
#masthead .hgroup support-text {
color: #9E3039;
font-style: bold;
}
However this has no effect on the tag line whatsoever. Even if i edited the main theme CSS here;
#masthead .hgroup .support-text {
line-height: 1.2em;
position: absolute;
right: 0;
top: 50%;
margin-top: -0.6em;
color: #4b4b4b;
font-style: italic;
max-width: 50%;
to change the colour, it has no effect!
Can anyone help please?
Hi Alan
Thanks for posting.
You can change the site tagline color at CustomizeTheme DesignFontsSite Tagline Color.
The tagline is set at Setting > General and displays below the logo. The text on the right of the Vantage header, Call me! Maybe?, that’s the support text (
.support-text
) which can be changed at CustomizeTheme DesignFontsHeader Text.Thanks Andrew,
I read on another blog that the tagline was referred as support-text, but I was mislead. Hence my confusion.
I had found out last night that it was actually referenced as site-description. I discovered this through the use of alchemy.
Well not quite. 😆
I tried out your plugin Custom CSS. Within about a minute of loading it and making a few tentative clicks to see what it was all about I fell in love. The hardest thing about styling WP themes is knowing what references theme developers have used for the various elements of its theme. Custom CSS fixes this, and lets me just get to work, saving soooooo much time.
It took less than an hour for me to realise this is probably the most useful plugin I will ever use.
Thanks for producing this, and having the courage to offer it for free.
Kind Regards,
Alan Mott
Hi Alan
Sorry for the confusion around the site description, I’m really glad to hear you’re making progress with SiteOrigin CSS. In the future, if you ever want to push further into CSS customizations you can perhaps look up tutorials on using the browser developer extension that’s built into every browser. It’s relatively quick to view the page HTML and CSS and locate the selectors you want to target with your Custom CSS.
If questions arise in the future, please, let us know. Cheers for now :)
