Sydney free theme compatibility with Page Builder 2.5.x

When using caching or exporting the layout gets jumbled. What version of Page Builder 2.5.x works properly with the free Sydney theme?

    Hi Justin,

Can you show me an example of what the layout looks like?

We’re not aware of any incompatibilities so I suspect this could plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If the above doesn’t help, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Here’s an export with no other plugins active:

    Hi Justin,

To clarify, what is that exported with? Are you trying to export the entire site?

Simply static. Yes, the whole site.

    Hi Justin,

I’m not really familiar with that plugin but have you used that plugin with SiteOrigin Page Builder before? If so, did it work without issue? I ask if it’s purely exporting the data without processing it, chances are it’s not actually compatible with us.

It worked perfectly on all versions of 2.5. There is only one other plugin that provides the same export function: HTML Exporter gave me the same results. Worked on 2.4.x but not 2.5.x

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Justin,

Does this issue occur when using just Sydney (as in, no SiteOrigin Page Builder)? Maybe it’s the theme that’s not compatible with that plugin.

It's working just fine on SiteOrigin Page Builder 2.4…Deactivating Page Builder after upgrading to 2.5.x obviously fixes the issue. Switching themes does NOT help. Twentysixteen and twentyseventeen display similarly broken layouts when exported. No, not just Sydney.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Justin,

So, to clarify, the issue here is that SiteOrigin Page Builder, as of 2.5, is no longer compatible with Simply static (or HTML Exporter). Correct?

I suspect you should be able to resolve this issue by enabling the legacy layout engine. Please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Layout tab. Please set Use Legacy Layout Engine to Always and save. How does that look?

    Correct.

Unfortunately, Legacy Layout did not fix the problem.  Looks the same.

    Hi Justin,

Hm. Please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Content tab. Tick Content Cache and try again. How does that look?

Sorry to say it still looks the same.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Justin,

    Sorry mate. :(
I’ll log this as a compatibility issue, but sadly, due to the low usage of both of these plugins, it’s unlikely to be a priority issue. I would recommend reverting to a previous version of SiteOrgin Page Builder at this time.

No worries.  Reverting to 2.4.0 has worked so far.
