This morning after a plugin update, I had to rollback to an earlier version of SiteOrigin Widget Bundle. I went from 1.17.7, back to 1.17.6. Any image I set up using the Image widget with was stretched tall. The browsers that I witnessed the error on are iOS Safari, iOS Facebook, and iOS Instagram.
Once I reverted back to 1.17.6, the error was fixed on iOS Safari. However, the error remained on Facebook’s and Instagram’s web browsers. I noticed in the 1.17.7 update notes that you changed the following…
“IE 11: Prevented images from exceeding the widget container.”
I wonder if that is the issue.
Hi Dillon
Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about the problem.
The issue remaining on Facebook and Instagram’s browsers is most likely a caching related.
This problem will most likely be related to the IE 11 fix. I’ll get back to you once I know more.
At the moment, I’m unable to replicate the issue. Please, could you send a link to a page that has a SiteOrigin Image widget that was stretched by the update? Thanks.
No worries about a link. The following can be used to hotfix the problem.
.sow-image-container > a { flex-direction: column; }The issue will be resolved in the next Widgets Bundle release. Thanks again for reporting the problem.
Hi Dillon
If possible, please, could you test a beta copy of the Widgets Bundle for us that contains a fix. If you’re up for that, you can find the beta release at the following URL:
https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/so-widgets-bundle.1.17.6.1-beta.zip
Once the ZIP file is on your desktop, head over to Plugins, deactivate, and delete the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. Next, install the ZIP file from Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin. Test the release, please, remove the CSS hotfix I posted above if you made use of it.
Thanks
