Staff List

8 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 8 years ago

I want to create a staff list with all the members of our association.
Fields would be Foto, Name/Surname, Role, email, phone and bio.
Are there some SiteOrigin widgets suited for this task?
I was considering creating a post for each person and then creating a page with a Post Carousel but it won’t display the different fields.
Any suggestion?
(I was trying to avoid other plugins like Simple Staff List)

Thanks,
Federico

    Hi Federaik,

    Unfortunately, we don’t have a widget like this at this time. I’ve marked this thread as a feature request. We often look through these threads to get ideas for what to add in our future updates. Hopefully, we’ll be able to add this in a future update.

    If you need this urgently, you could always post a job on Codeable.

    I managed roughly with Custom Post Type UI and SiteOrigin Post Loop, how do I control the spacing of looped elements in CSS? Thanks, you rock!

    Hi Federaik,

    It really depends on the setup. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at the structure?

    Sure,
    It’s here : http://tbitalia.org/it/staff/

    I tried to fiddle with your beautiful Custom CSS plugin but ended up with
    article.post>:last-child {
    margin-bottom: -20px;
    }
    I don’t think it’s the right way…

    Hi Federico,

    Sorry for the delay.

    The linked page isn’t working for me. Did you change the URL?

    Hi Federaik,

    Please add (and adjust) the following CSS to WP AdminAppearanceCustom CSS:

    .widget_siteorigin-panels-postloop article.post {
    	margin-bottom: 80px;
    }

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.

    Worked fine, thank you!

    I am considering adding a “sort of show more tag” on the individual posts. This is a behaviour that I would like to use also in my home page, showing more content without reloading. I found in your forum references to plugins like WP show more an similar and I was wondering if you have a preferred SiteOrigin widget/approach to this that can remain consistent in theme and plugin updates.
    Thanks,
    Federico

    sorry, the plugin I meant was WP showhide. But I wonder if by now you have implemented some built in PageBuilder alternative. I would like this to be inline to split content even in the middle of a line of text and not having paragraph separators between the text before and after the tag.

    Hi Federaik,

    Unfortunately, that plugin (and similar plugins like that one) are still your best option at doing that.
