    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    I actually discovered that the problem is firefox. the icons show up in google chrome – have you seen this before?

    Sure :) This sounds like you might be using a browser extension in Firefox, perhaps AdBlocker and in AdBlocker settings you have it set to disable social media icons. Let me know how that goes.
