Social Media button widget has disappeared

The social media button widget is no longer appearing in my main menu. I’ve tried other plugins in the main menu and they are working ok, it’s just SiteOrigins that seems to be the issue.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi N,

To clarify, how are you adding widgets to your menu? I ask as WordPress doesn’t natively allow you to add widgets to your menu. Also, do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply. I’m adding the widgets to my main sidebar/main sidebar menu. The sidebar used to appear on the right side of the page before disappearing.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi N,

This is going to sound odd, but are you unable to view the sidebar on the linked page? I ask as I’m able to. For reference, here’s a screenshot of what I see:

Hi Alex, thanks for the quick reply. Thanks for sending the screenshot. No, I can’t see sidebar on the linked page. I’m using Google Chrome. Always have, not sure why it would suddenly not show up? It doesn’t appear when I try to preview the page when I’m editing it in the back end of WordPress either.

It’s strange you can see it!

    Hi N,

Are you able to see the sidebar while logged in? Also, do you see the widget in your sidebar at WP AdminAppearanceWidgets?

Do you have a plugin cache or anything like that?

  6. 6 years, 3 months ago N Barrett

I can’t see it when I’m logged in either. It only seems to be happening with the social media button widget. If I add something else (e.g. a calendar widget) or another SiteOrigin widget (like the image carousel) I can view it no problem. I don’t think I have a plugin cache or anything like that.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi N,

Can you please show me a screenshot of what you can see? Please note that we’re currently unable to progress attachments so you’ll need to upload the screenshot to a third party image hosting site like Imgur or vgy.me.

      Hi Alex,
Here are the links to the screenshots.
I tried adding a (blank) image slider widget just to show that all of the other siteorigin widgets are appearing ok for me, it’s only the social media buttons one that isn’t showing up.

https://vgy.me/u/5NJpqB (showing slider widget but not the social media buttons appearing)
https://vgy.me/u/1cIRzq (showing slider widget and social media buttons in back)
https://vgy.me/u/8Hpcjd (I removed the slider widget and now nothing appears)

      Thanks!

    Hi N,

    That’s really odd.
To clarify, does this happen with any other browser or on another computer?

I don’t have access to another computer to check, but it doesn’t happen on my mobile phone or when I open an incognito tab.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi N,

Thanks. I suspect this issue may be as a result of a weird (implying I don’t know how/why) issue with your browser. Are you able to replicate this issue with another browser on your computer?
