Slow Loading Pages

Hi SiteOrigin Team

We are experiencing very slow load times with Vantage Premium

From chrome dev tools one of the errors they display is:

Resource interpreted as Font but transferred with MIME type x-font/woff:

"http://www.glenaratransport.com/wp-content/themes/vantage/fontawesome/font/fontawesome-webfont.woff?v=4.2.0"

The following appear on the home page as errors
Error in response to storage.get: TypeError: undefined is not a function

Unfortunately, I know very little about this – just trying to work it out.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have deactivated all plugins except page builder and meta slider but site still loading very slowly

    Hi Susan

    Sorry to hear about the hassle.

    Our delivery of the Font Awesome library is standard as per Font Awesome normal setup, I don’t believe that’s a load time issue.

    The other errors you see relate to Chrome browser extensions and not your site.

    Please give the following plugin a try: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/. It’s nice and simple to setup.

    Server response time is an issue that Google sees:

    That’s something that would need to be tackled from a hosting point of view. Perhaps chat to your hosts about that issue.

    Thanks Andrew –

    I didn’t think the font would be an issue as it has been fine over the past – just needed to check.

    Will try the plugin you suggest. Tried some other caching plugins but not very successful. Have spoken to host and they say it’s not a problem at their end but will go back to them.

    Should I reload the theme to see if that helps? It’s strange because the site was going so well and loading in 2.9secs and getting good scores with google’s page speed and gtmetrix results were up around 93/89 – until I started messing with caching and minifying css html and js.

    The wp fastest cache plugin worked a treat (so far) no problems with caching or compatibility with other plugins.

    Only plugins I haven't reactivated – black studio tinymce and wordfence and I might just leave them alone.

    Super, glad to hear that WP Fastest Cache helped. It has a nice simple interface. I’ve also seen security plugins slow things down in the past so it’s worth looking at whether yours was a problem here. Black Studio shouldn’t be a problem. The Visual Editor widget it provides is perhaps the most useful for Page Builder so I’d turn that back on.
