Slider Widget icons Ada compliance

I have installed the simple slider widget on a website for a client. When I run the WAVE accessibility check on the page, it comes up with an “empty link” error on the two icons for moving left and right in the slide show. Is there a way to add alt text or link information so I can get rid of that error?
