hey guys I’ve tried adding a full width slider to several different pages with several varieties of images and this effect continues to happen. the top of the image is shown twice,, see screenshot.

I’ve taken a look around your website and think I see the issue. However I would need an export of your layout to confirm. Could you please send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget, and click prebuilt layouts. Then click import / export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as file.io.

Just had a look at your layout and I see nothing wrong with it – it’s actually pretty well set out.
As such I suspect this might be a conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
hmm looks like its working fine on WP 2016 theme.
is there any other way to troubleshoot the issue? the plugins didn’t have any effect.
i noticed when changing from background image to foreground image the problem is gone – until the screen stretches past 1024 px then its no longer a full width slider.

I’ve had a look at your updated slider, and while this does resolve the previous issue it’s not in a way I would consider a good fix. The foreground image isn’t really meant to be full width (it capping out at 1024px is purely due to the size of the image). Can you please revert it back to the background image so I can try and find a solution?
As this is a theme issue I should be able to find a way to resolve it pretty easily (or at least tell you what the issue is) once it’s set up like it previously was.

I’ve worked out the issue. It’s a theme issue. Open up your stylesheet and refer to .entry-content li:before. You can fix this with some custom CSS. If you navigate to AppearanceCustom CSS, you’ll get our custom CSS editor. Just add the following code.
.sow-slider-image:before { content: none !important ; }You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.
