    Hi dingodesign

    Try not setting the slider via Theme Settings, instead go to Appearance > Home Page, insert Meta Slider into your first row, edit the row, click the Layout tab on the right and set the Row Layout to full width stretched.

    Then to go Appearance > Custom CSS and insert the following:

    .home #main { 
padding-top: 0;
}
