SiteOrigin Widgets in Gutenberg not working properly

Hello,
for a while now I have been using Site Origin Page Builder to create all pages of my website.

For some time and for some reason, Gutenberg and its block system seems to be a site builder particularly featured by wordpress.

From my point of view the block system of Gutenberg / Classic Editor requires advanced knowledge in codes and css-styles to create an attractive layout. So for people like me not beeing so familiar with codes and css-styles, Site Origin page builder is just perfect and saves a lot of time and nerves.

However, when I try to set up a new page, I cannot select to do this exclusively with site origin page builder anymore. I am forced to use this block system (even though I deactivate classic editor and gutenberg plugins).
Yes, there is a Site Origin Layout Block, but this doesn’t work properly, e. g. it is definitely not possible to enter any text in the site origin text editor widget.

Do you have an idea how either I can bypass this block system and use Site Origin page builder or how to make the Site Origin Layout Block work properly?

Many thanks for your advice and support!
Birgit

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Birgit

    Thanks for reaching out.

Were your pages created in the Classic interface or in the Block Editor interface? If in the Classic interface, try activating the Classic Editor plugin. What are you then seeing?

    Hi Andrew,
thank you for your quick reply.

Pages that I originally had set up with SiteOrigin Page Builder still open in the SO Page Builder surface, as long as I have Classic Editor AND Gutenberg plugins deactivated.

Any new page that I want to add always opens in the block surface, even though Classic Editor AND Gutenberg are deactivated and Site Origin Page Builder is active. This allows me to add a SO Widget Block, but not to build my page with the normal SO page Builder surface.

Within the SO Widget Block (and no matter wheter Classic Editor is activated or deactivated, I tried it all) some widgets just do not work properly. I can add the SO Editor text widget, I also can open it, it looks normal, but I cannot type any text in it. There is no cursor in the text field. This always happens with the SO Widget Block, also when Classic Editor and/or Gutenberg is/are activated.

Should there be an option to send screenshots in the support forum, I would love to send you some.

Any idea where this comes from?

    Best regards
    Birgit

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Birgit

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    Private Snippet

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and Private Snippet for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for the details.

With the Classic Editor deactivated, new pages are created as Block Editor pages because at SettingsPage BuilderGeneral: Use Classic Editor for new posts is deactivated.

The issue experienced in the SiteOrigin Editor widget needs to be diagnosed with a plugin conflict test. When I load a SiteOrigin Editor widget I can see a JavaScript error from a plugin called Checklist. Try testing without that plugin, to begin with.

    Hello Andrew

    T H A N K Y O U S O M U C H !
I never thought it could be the checklist plugin and really already have left quite a lot of time and nerves on this.
    Excellent!
