SiteOrigin Widgets have disappeared!

Hi – I am fairly new to WordPress and don’t have much website experience so please bear with me!

I’ve logged in this evening to update by Woocommerce Store but have noticed that everything that I have added using the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle has completely disappeared from my site! The boxes are still there behind the scenes but when I try to edit them I get the following message: “You need to install SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle to use the widget SiteOrigin_Widget_Editor_Widget. Save and reload this page to start using the widget after you’ve installed it”.

I’ve tried to install the Widgets Bundle again but its fails because the destination folder already exists, although it doesn’t appear anywhere in my plugin list (either active or inactive). I thought perhaps I could delete the original folder and then reinstall but I can’t delete something that isn’t there…

So far I’ve tried:
– Deactivating the SiteOrigin Page Builder Plugin and reactivating.
– Rolling back to a previous version of the plugin (it has recently updated just before these problems began)
– Reverting to earlier versions of each of my pages to try and restore the text; and
– Restoring an earlier backup of my entire site.

Unfortunately, nothing has worked. What else can I try?

Thanks for any advice!! K.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi K,

Unfortunately, this is a sign of a failed WordPress plugin update. To resolve this issue you’re going to have to manually delete the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle directory (wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/). Based on your post, it sounds like you tried this. Is this correct?

Please note that restoring backups through WordPress itself may not be able to correct this issue – the directory itself typically has permissions that the backups won’t account for.
