Hello
I am specifically interested in adding a Wiki very close to the default search bar on my WordPress site. This is to enable me to provide a short instruction on how to search terms (as I have a separate search plugin installed that relies on a little prior knowledge to be used effectively). On searching my widget options, I cannot identify a widget for my search bar and on considering the options provided via the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, I cannot see an obvious solution. I would be grateful for suggestions as to how I could hope to design a search bar widget.
My chosen WordPress theme is Twenty Fourteen. According to a WordPress design book I consulted, this theme should list a search bar widget in the Primary Sidebar area of my dashboard widgets page. However, currently this is not the case.
Many thanks!
Hi, thanks for reaching out.

Assuming you haven’t used blocks at AppearanceWidgets, it might be easier to install the https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/ plugin and use widgets at AppearanceWidgets. A Search widget should be available on the page. You can drag the widget to the sidebar area.
Many thanks, Andrew. I am currently working on this and a few other issues with my site, but I can confirm at this stage that I have installed the plugin you recommended and in turn opted to use a basic text Content sidebar widget without sensing any requirement for dragging widgets.
Super; glad to hear you’re making progress.
All the best with your site.
