After updating WordPress to version 6.9, the editor in the SiteOrigin Widget Features widget no longer works correctly. For example, if I add an email address, the entire widget stops displaying. If I save using the visual editor, the HTML codes are shown. Only when I save as code are no HTML codes displayed, as long as no HTML code was entered. The SiteOrigin Editor Widget works perfectly. It seems to be a conflict between the theme and the widget, but I have no idea what’s causing it. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Meinhard
What happens when the widget no longer works correctly? Can you perhaps describe what you’re seeing? Is it possible Wordfence or server firewall is blocking the save?
Many thanks for your reply Andrew.
When I save the content of the SiteOrigin Widget Features using the visual editor, the HTML tags become visible. For example: Aktives Mitglied
If I add an email link with “mailto”, the entire SiteOrigin Widget Features widget disappears, along with all the rows above the SiteOrigin Widget Features row. Strange.
Hi, thanks for the update.
If you’re editing Page Builder content outside of Page Builder, please, keep in mind this is not an intended workflow and can break the formatting of the page.
When the issue occurs, you can try checking the browser console, if you find a 403 error then it’s likely a firewall is blocking the request. Here is how to check https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/#step-3-diagnosis.
