When I checked our website today (ropcpdx.org) today, it said it was having “technical difficulties.” When we tried to log into WordPress, we couldn’t, so my husband called our hosting company. The technician looked at the log and found a conflict with SO widget bundle. She was able to deactivate it, and then the site was visible and we’re able to log into WordPress.
However, since almost all of our content is built using SO widgets, nothing is visible on the site, or editable. Please help.
SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle 1.15.8
WordPress 5.2.2 running Vantage (SiteOrigin)theme.
PHP version: 7.2.7
Hosting service: BlueHost
We also use PageBuilder by SiteOrigin: Version 2.10.7 and SiteOrigin CSS Version 1.2.4
Hi, thanks for reaching out.
Please, could you find out what the error message was? Your hosting company should be able to check the log. I’m sure we can assist but would require more information to do so.
Thanks again.
I have attached the error log as a text file. Thank you for your assistance!
Please copy Greer (cc'd) on your response as well.
Thanks for your reply. Due to various spam challenges, it isn’t possible to send attachments to the forum. If possible, please, open the error log, locate the day that’s the issue and send us the error that relates to the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.
Hello. I’ve tried twice to share the error log with you by copy-paste, and it apparently doesn’t work. How else can I share this information with you?
Hi, pastebin.com is one option. Thanks :)
Oh, thanks!
Here is the error log: https://pastebin.com/KsxyGHSD
Thanks for any help!
Thanks for the logs.
There are two possible causes that come to mind. The first is a failed update or install where files are missing. To resolve, try deleting and then reinstalling the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. If you aren’t able to delete the Widgets Bundle you’ll need to login to your server via FTP or Hosting File Manager and navigate to /wp-content/plugins/, there you can delete the
so-widgets-bundle
folder. It’s advisable to have FTP or Hosting File Manager access ready, if the error re-occurs, you’ll need to delete the
so-widgets-bundle
folder in the /wp-content/plugins/ folder. If you don’t use FTP then Hosting File Manager is the easiest option, you’ll find it in your hosting control panel.https://my.bluehost.com/hosting/help/file_manager
Let us know how that goes. Thanks.
