Hi,
I am unable to use the SiteOrigin Layout or SiteOrigin Widget blocks in the Gutenberg editor. I get the following error in the Google Chrome Inspector Console:

In the editor itself, I get the “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed” error.
Can you advise how to fix this?
Hi
Thanks for posting.
Errors like the ones described are most often caused by a plugin conflict. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Thank you for the response.
It seems that the issue is with my theme. Disabling all plugins didn’t resolve the issue I’m seeing with the SiteOrigin Layout and Widget blocks in Gutenberg. The theme I’m using is called Zefir (http://documentation.birdwp.com/wp-zefir/). Can you suggest what next step I should take to resolve the conflict between this theme and SiteOrigin?
Thanks for testing, sorry I wasn’t able to reply sooner. Please, check for errors in the browser console, here is how:

Scroll down to find your browser. Please, let us know what errors you find, if any.
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the help. I actually contacted the Zefir theme developer too who confirmed that this theme isn’t compatible with the Gutenberg editor and that’s why there are errors when trying to use the SiteOrigin Layout block. The developer has stopped working on this theme… So, I actually don’t think there’s anything wrong with your products, it’s just that the theme is not compatible with the block editor, period.
I think I will let this be for now and will have to switch the theme on my site at some point to a compatible theme. Thanks again for your help in troubleshooting this issue!
Thanks for the detailed update, I’m sure it’ll be helpful for someone searching in the future.
All the best, hope you’re able to make progress soon :)
