When I try to publish a video hosted on Amazon S3 server that is accessible for everyone:
1) it takes a lot to load the homepage with that external S3 video link
2) it just shows a blank space instead of video, just shows nothing
But when I play the same video hosted on the same server, it plays OK.
To speed up the website I’d like to host the video on Amazon S3 servers.
What may be causing it to be not playable?
I tried disabling all of the plugins, and it didn’t play anyway.
Please let me know.
Hi Eugene
Thanks for getting in touch. Do you perhaps have an example video URL that I could test with?
Hi Andrew, sure.
Here’s the video URL that it won’t play as an external link:
https://dirtydiana.s3.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com/your-so-special.mp4
Thanks for the demo link.
The core WordPress Video Widget seems to have the same issue. I’ve asked Alex here at SiteOrigin to take a look. We’ll reply as soon as we know more.
Thanks for the wait. The issue seems related to how WordPress handles embeds. It’s possible to display the video by adding it as a self-hosted video using an external URL.

I am very grateful for your solution, Andrew.
It resolved the problem.
Best regards.
Super; glad to hear that helped and you’re able to make progress.
Cheers for now.
Andrew
