Hi,
I am using the SiteOrigin Unwind theme on my website, www.evancat.org.
Whenever I try to edit the SiteOrigin Editor Widget, it comes up as a blank page in the Pagebuilder editor. I can see the content if I switch to the visual editor. I disabled all plugins except Pagebuilder and SiteOrigin and the problem continued.
I contacted my website host who discovered that the editor works when the theme is changed from SiteOrigin Unwind to default, but obviously I’d like to keep it at SiteOrigin Unwind.
Can you please help?
Thanks,
Annmarie
Actually now that I’ve changed the theme back to Siteorigin Unwind this is the text I get when I click on the Editor:
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at evancatorg.ipagemysql.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.
If I change back to another theme, the Editor works fine.
Reall appreciate any help!
Hi Annmarie,
Unfortunately, we’re unable to replicate this issue. Can you please provide me with a screenshot of what you’re seeing when this issue occurs? Please note that we’re currently unable to process attachments so you’ll need to upload the screen to a third party image hosting site like Imgur or vgy.me.
Also, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
Hi Annmarie,
Oh sorry, I didn’t see your reply before I replied.
I’m not too sure why that’s happening but it definitely aligns with a general plugin conflict as SiteOrigin Unwind doesn’t alter the database in any way. Please run the aforementioned plugin conflict test and let me know you go.
Thanks so much for your help Alex.
I mentioned in the first post that I disabled all plugins except Pagebuilder and SiteOrigin (though didn’t specify it is: SiteOrigin Widets bundle).
Not much help to disable the Pagebuilder plugin as it’s the editor that I’m trying to access.
I’ll work right now on getting a screenshot uploaded.
Thanks, Annmarie

Hi Annmarie,
Thanks. That’s strange. Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

Done. Hopefully you got the email.
Hi Annmarie,
Thanks. I reinstalled SiteOrigin Unwind and this issue is no longer occurring for me. Are you able to replicate this issue anymore?
Yay!!!! That’s got it sorted. Thank you SO much, Alex!!
:-)

Hi Annmarie,
Great to hear! :)
Please be sure to post another thread if you have any other questions.
Hi Alex,
Not sure if I should post in a new thread or this one. But thought I should post here as I think it’s the same plugin conflict I’m dealing with.
After you sorted problem I reactivated other plugins and the site crashed. I deactivated them by renaming the plugin files to backup names using ftp and the site started working again. I slowly renamed plugin files to their original names, but site seemed to randomly crash whenever I renamed the folder, so-widgets-bundle, back to its original and activated it.
At the moment, the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle is activated but when I try to edit an Editor Widget I get the text,
‘Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have
done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.’
Unfortunately I deleted the admin account I created for you earlier, but can recreate one for you if you’re willing to try it again?
Thanks so much,
Annmarie
Hi Annmarie,
The issue you’re facing is different to the issue you were facing with SiteOrigin Unwind. Can you please start a new thread? This will allow others who have similar issues to find related posts easily. Sorry about this!
